Welcome! The Daisy was chosen as the national symbol for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Awareness for several reasons. First, the word Daisy means Flower beloved by children. Also, it was selected because it is an inexpensive traditional flower that is readily available thus, fresh flowers can be used at organization events. Finally, although the legs of the Daisy are designed to suggest an awareness ribbon, the total symbol is unique.

But sometimes preteens (people under 13) can become pregnant as well. The fact that teenagers become pregnant is related to many factors.
